The Kosi Bridge infrastructure project, managed by Kosi Bridge Infrastructure Company Pvt. Ltd., is a significant 4-lane road project covering a distance of 10.635 kilometres in Bihar. It includes a major bridge spanning 1.875 kilometres across the Kosi River, along with guide and afflux bunds extending over 21.21 kilometres. This project was developed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model by the National Highways Authority (NHAI). It began commercial operations on February 8, 2012, and received its Final Completion Certificate on November 11, 2014.

The primary goal of this project is to connect the missing link of NH 27 (formerly NH 57) as part of the Phase II program within the East-West Corridor Project by NHAI. It is situated in Bihar, a key part of the Muzaffarpur – Darbhanga – Forbesganj - Purina Section, providing a vital connection between Delhi and Assam via Siliguri, as well as various northeastern states. The project corridor traverses the Kosi River catchment area and includes the Kosi Major Bridge, 4 cattle crossings, 1 box culvert, and 1 toll plaza.

This road primarily caters to the heavy commercial vehicle segment of users travelling between the western parts of India and the landlocked regions of the eastern part of the country. Notably, the project offers a continuous four-lane facility, providing a world-class driving experience for road users throughout its entire length without any diversion or blockage.
